Jeremiah 33:3  Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.

It still surprises me how we don’t teach some of  the most fundamental and meaningful things in the church as a regular, routine matter of practice.

How many people really hear from the Lord apart from reading what He’s said in scripture?   And if we have heard from Him, it’s that one glorious “time” that He spoke so loudly in our spirit that we knew that we knew that we knew that it was Him.  But is that all there is?  Has your church taught you how to hear Him speak to you on a regular basis?   I didn’t think so.  Yet what could be more fundamentally life changing than learning how to discern the voice of God inside of you, speaking to you each day, whenever He chooses?

All I can do is tell you what worked for me.  And from those days, decades ago, to this day, I can stop, become silent, any where at any time and hear the Lord’s voice or feel His presence.   THIS is what keeps my faith alive.   I have all kinds of respect for the faithful who stay committed without this daily experience because I’m not sure I could!   For me, being with the Lord daily in my spirit, hearing and feeling Him guiding me, is my life blood.

So, if you desire to have that kind of relationship with the Lord, that you can hear Him, feel Him, experience Him one on one all the days of your life, then I’m here to tell you that I believe that’s EXACTLY what He desires, too!   And learning how is a process, not an event.  It’s perhaps different for everyone.  I really don’t know.  But I know He wants you to be with Him in this way.   He’s made that clear in scripture.  Heck, He made it abundantly clear by His death and resurrection, that His desire is to be with us in a loving relationship.   If you love someone passionately, enough to die for them, wouldn’t you want to be able to be with them every day?  Well Jesus loves you, this I know.  And He wants to walk with you and He wants to talk with you.

So, start praying about this and I will tell the process I went through over the course of the next entries,  in order to learn how to come into His presence.   It’s such a life changer.   And He may have the same process for you or He may have something totally different. I don’t know. But this I do know-  He is no respecter of persons.  If He did this for me, and He did, then He will do it for you.

Take Away:   If you truly want to live your life with Jesus- in this world and not of it- then it’s time to learn  how to come into His presence, just the two of you, anywhere, any time.

Prayer:   Dear Lord, please give me a hunger to know You, a hunger to spend time with You, and hunger to surrender and submit to You, a hunger to hear Your voice.    Reveal to me how I get there, Father.   Show me how to come into Your presence in a way that goes with me all the days of my life.  Speak to me, Lord.  Let me hear your voice.
