Prayer of Forgiveness

Father,

You are the best! You are worthy and holy and ever present! You are for us, not against us and You love us with an everlasting love. We are your grateful people! We come before You today with hope in You, because of and despite our circumstances, with gratitude for all You have chosen to give us. We come to You knowing that we are Yours and You are ours. We are not alone, we are not forsaken, we are not rejected, abandoned, or betrayed.

Father, this day we choose to forgive any and all persons who have indeed rejected us, abandoned us, or betrayed us- or who don’t agree with us even, Lord. Please forgive us for any unforgiveness that has remained in us. Expose it, Lord. Let none remain hidden. We desire freedom! We want to know You, to be more like You. We want to be obedient to Your instruction.

In the name of Jesus, we cast off the shackles that have bound us in any unforgiveness and command the work of the enemy in this to be gone. We confess any of our own fleshly failures and call everything in us to line up with our confession and come to full account to the Lord Jesus Christ. We command any spirits of bitterness, anger, self-absorption, hatred, victimhood, or any other demonic spirit associated with the sin of unforgiveness to go in the mighty name of Jesus! We command any stony parts of our hearts to turn to flesh this day. We desire, long for, appropriate freedom this day, Lord, through Your grace and Your mercy!

Father, fill us now with Your love, Your truth. Comfort us as we heal from the wounds inflicted by our own unforgiveness and through the sins of others. Grant us this day the ability to experience, not just know, but experience Your love in a fresh, new way. Speak to us through whatever means- through music, a kind word, an unexpected phone call, something in the mail, through our family, however You would, Lord, but quicken to us in our spirits Your holy presence as we seek Your face. Make all things new, Lord. Bring life to places that were dead and bring peace to every inch of our being. We ask boldly and with confidence, being assured of this- that You love us with an everlasting love.

We thank You, Lord. We bless You, praise You, we love and adore You. We remain grateful for You with everything in us. We are Yours.

Amen
