A Prayer of Surrender

Dear Lord,

May we be humbled by the knowledge of our salvation. May our hearts be aligned with Yours as You witness the lost choosing death over life, not realizing what they are doing. Father purify our hearts that our response would be as Yours was- forgive them.

Lord, the narrow road for us today as we see so much rebellion and evil is to stand. We don’t attack as the godless and ungrateful. We don’t retreat as those who are afraid. We stand in peace and joy in the gratitude that we have been saved. We speak truth in love as You have instructed. In this way we are Your warriors.

Please, Father, keep a watch over our mouths that we would speak every time You desire, that we would be silent every time You desire. We pray the words of our mouths and meditations of our hearts be acceptable to You, Lord, that they be directed by You. Mostly Lord, call us to prayer.

Bring us to the place where our eyes remain focused on You more than the whirlwind around us, that we remain external to the tornado so that we can pray and speak to the tornado from a much more effective place.

In all things, Lord, we know You are not confused, we know You are not surprised, we know You have good plans for us. And we know and understand that Your primary plan is not a corporate one. It is a personal one- that we would each know You more. We were born for such a time as this. You have made no mistakes.

Perhaps You knew this generation would need reason to cling, Lord, so You are allowing the elimination of lukewarm that we be either hot or cold and the choice more deliberate. Lord be with us as the sifting continues. Help us to be Your loving servants to reach the cold, now so clearly visible. Use us, Father. Keep the fires blazing within us for You.

Please give us an unbridled desire to sit with You, to abide in You, to be in Your word. It takes abiding to become like you. We long to be like You.

We love You, we bless You, we praise You Lord. Be with us, engulf us, teach us to represent You well in Your mercy, grace, kindness, gentleness, and love.

Amen.

Thank you so very much, exactly. It’s ugly out there and I want to retreat lately, but I am praying for physical and mental and spiritual strength and courage to STAND. Dwelling with Him, wanting so much to be like Him. Blessings over you.
    Love.
